Dublin Food Co-op

The Dublin Food Co-op, a consumer and producer co-op (full disclosure – of which I am a member!) recently released its Annual Report. The reports of the officials and the Financial Statements provide an illuminating illustration of the problems faced by an organisation attempting to operate as “a relaxed place safe from capitalism and commercialism” (p.15):

For anyone in Dublin, the Co-op is a great place to shop for Fairtrade and organic products and holds its main vegetable market on Saturdays. The venue also hosts a different market e.g. flea, vintage, fusion, every Sunday, and the place is usually packed. They have a calendar on their Events page showing upcoming markets and events, workshops etc.
